I bought this During Dec 2024 Pre-Order as an upgrade for mine Sony 24-50mm F2.8 G lens. Even its heavy and bulky than my old lens, however the gripping are way too better than expected. The image quality of GM F2 Zoom lens are always perfect as expected

The utilitarian urban Everyday Carry lens, for 70mm tight zooms to 28mm group shots. Providing a constant f2 aperture across the focal lengths. A dependable grab-and-go lens for natural light scenarios, and beautiful bokeh.

Great overall! Surprisingly balanced and does not feel too heavy. I handheld this with the A7R V around NYC for a full day with no problem. Very sharp, close in terms of my 35mm 1.4 GM but to have zoom at f2 is wonderful and convenient.

Its both heavy and bulky, but at the convenient of good portraitures as oppose to getting all primes within the range.

It is an amazing do-it-all lens that I am super pleased with. Having f2 in a zoom lens makes it perfect for low-light wedding and event photography. This is a great middle ground between fast primes and versatile zoom lenses. The only downside for me is the heavy distortion at 28 mm. Hopefully soon there will be a lens profile correction for lightroom and some in camera distortion fix for video.

My only fault is that this lens really should have been a 24-70 f2. This is what the wedding market wanted. For weddings that extra 4mm can be crucial. I could have lived with the extra weight. This is the only reason I would not give it 5 stars

Incredible piece of engineering. Lighting autofocus, beautiful bokeh - this is replacing a 35mm, 50mm and 85mm in my work bag.
